Components of School Counseling
The components of a School Counseling Program are:
- School Counseling Curriculum
- Responsive Services
- Individual Student Planning
- System Report
Confidentiality and Informed Consent
APS School Counselors are required to follow the Ethical Standards for School Counselors. In addition, New Mexico State Law requires that any suspicion of child abuse or neglect be reported. Furthermore, if a student poses a serious threat to themselves or others, school staff is required to intervene and report to authorities.
Mission
All students will be enabled to acquire the educational, occupational and social skills necessary to function and contribute productively in society.
