Welcome to the Library
My name is Mr. Coffman, and I'm the librarian at Mission Ave. I'm also the librarian at E.G. Ross, and I split my time between the two.
Check out the library's website, which has meet codes, online resources, and information.

What We Do in the Library:
I make sure to have each grade in mind when picking stories, and all of my read alouds are interactive.
Pre-K-1st : We pause and discuss elements of the story, like what’s going on in the pictures, what kind of predictions can we make, and what kind of connections can we make between the story and our real lives.
2nd-3rd : We move more towards the structure of a story, the structure of the library, genres of stories, and of course we read grade-appropriate books.
4th-5th : We continue to read stories, but the main focus is helping students learn and understand the role of the school library and librarian as they move into secondary grades. This includes doing research projects, citing information, use search engines to gather data, and analyze the validity of resources.
Black History Month Exemplars
Here are some examples of the research projects 4th and 5th grade do during library time.
